Bihar, a state located in northeastern India, is one of the poorest states in the country.
In the Madhubani district of the Mithila region of Bihar State, women traditionally create and sell Madhubani or Mithila paintings, which are classified as one of the many famous Indian art forms. However, due to a lack of design and technical skills as well as marketing know-how, many of these women find it difficult to earn an income that provides an adequate standard of living.

The program is designed to help local female artists acquire the skills to improve their incomes and livelihoods.
Ricoh has been implementing the 4-months training programs in collaboration with DRISHTEE*, a social enterprise/NGO in India that aims to improve incomes in rural areas of India through technical training and value chain building.

Through this program, we will contribute to eliminating disparities by using digital technology to create a society in which “no one will be left behind” the SDGs.
